Art is therapeutic and making art can improve and enhance physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. In addition, art experiences help us develop empathy and aesthetic appreciation, leading to a more fulfilling life.
Local Glass Studio Foundation supports free or reduced-cost therapeutic glass art activities for individuals experiencing life challenges like: disease, mental-health disorders, domestic violence, harassment, PTSD, disability, and/or poverty. We aspire to provide positive, enriching glass art opportunities for everyone.

Health Challenges |
Seniors |
For those who are diagnosed with cancer or any other disease and their families, Local Glass Studio Foundation offers positive, enriching glass art experiences that aim to provide relief, release, respite, and support for the challenges of disease.

With seniors, Local Glass Studio Foundation looks for those individuals experiencing feelings of isolation and provides them an opportunity for social interaction and creativity. The program is "coffee-club style" where participants can work on individual or group projects in a group setting.

Barriers To Art |
Our creative teen program focuses on teens who have experienced bullying, have emotional challenges, or struggle with mental health. It provides these individuals with a safe space for creative expression, which has the ability to reduce stress and anxiety, foster self-esteem, cultivate emotional resilience, enhance social skills, gain confidence, and help people process traumas.
This program runs quarterly and teens are required to apply or be referred by a therapist. To download our Teen Application, click here. |
The Foundation is especially interested in reaching participants who have met barriers to art experiences. Those participants include individuals with special needs and disadvantaged youth. It is our desire to provide a space where these individuals can access glass art without physical, emotional, or monetary barriers. Art is for everyone.
